Is Your Inner Warrior empowering you or working against you? So the real question is are you in combat with your Inner Warrior?

Warrior: “A person specializing in combat or warfare”

The warrior definition doesn’t sound like you, does it? Most women are not attracted to the energy of the warrior. The image conveys masculine force, dominance or a fighter. Feminine energy is envisioned to be peaceful, softer, and dependent.

It’s no wonder that many of us women disregard this member of the inner family and feel disconnected from our own true warrior energy.

In certain circles, we feel the only way to be successful and noteworthy is to adorn the clothing of the masculine warrior stance: to be tough and ready to fight. Especially in the corporate world, we find women who wear their suits of aggressive and combative behaviors because they believe it is the only way to be seen and heard.

Situations where we feel we need to take on our warrior stance combat go beyond the corporate walls, however; it is also alive and well in our homes. It is the never-ending fight to be in command. We are in combat with our own inner warrior.

How many times have you been told, “You’re trying to control things”?

Fear is the overriding force that drives that type of warrior thinking. What we need to look at is what it is we are trying to command.

A new way to hold the masculine energy of warrior is control over ourselves, which then becomes mastery within. This energy really hasn’t been on the planet for us women for many centuries.

Your Inner Warrior:

• Is the dedicated protector of you
• Follows the Aikido philosophy of: rather than directing energy towards defeating the attacker, defeat the stories of your mind
• Sets appropriate boundaries that respect and honor you, and the other person
• Is not afraid to speak up and be assertive
• Loves to adventure into the unknown
• Is confident in her adventure
• Is humble yet knows her strength
• Knows she is not better or worse than others
• Makes decisions with integrity for self and others and trust them
• Is secure in standing up for herself (self empowered)

As your inner family becomes connected, feels safe, hears the wisdom of the Inner Sage, feels the love from the Inner Nurturer, and delights at life as the Inner Child, your Inner Warrior has more confidence to step into the unknown.
